Midweek Modness: An Homage To Aarikka
I’ve searched high and low for my own example of an Aarikka wooden bead necklace (the picture above is from Samantha Howard). No dice.
While I love hunting for awesome finds, sometimes I like to make things too. Last week, I saw a packet of colourful wood craft beads at the Dollarama and decided to make a necklace out of them. Thematically, it’s a continuation of the scribble fringe necklace I made a couple of weeks ago. It’s also inspired by a piece I saw on Etsy — I just added to tiers of loops. I call it the Lisa Looper.
UPDATE: After posting this morning about never finding an Aarikka piece this morning, I went for a little amble to the Value Village this evening and I TOTALLY FOUND AN AARIKKA NECKLACE! For $5 even! pictures and details to follow…
