Bonus Boxes

Making even more boxes to store my treasures. Much of my inspiration comes from other boites I’ve collected over the ages. Here’s a little hand made roll top number that I picked up in a thrift shop decades ago. I use it to store odds and ends and statement costume jewellery rings.

It has an Art Deco decoration of squares and polka dots. The circles inspired the look of this box. I used fine tip acrylic markers to colour the surface. It took forever but I really like the energy of the scritchy scratchy finish. While I was working on this piece, I got a call from my doctors office rescheduling my next appointment. I wrote the info down on the box figuring I would cover it up but know I kind of like that this action has become part of the box’s story. So I’m leaving it as is.
