Free Things

My fitness routine is going on long daily ambles. This exercise is motivated by the hope that I’ll find something interesting abandoned in a free box on the sidewalk. Here are some of the treasures I found in the last week.

Dove-themed collector stamps.

A ceramic mallard that would also make a nice ring holder.

What looks like homemade Barbie clothes and small doll stands. I will use the stands for posing my Mini Blythes. I already dressed Posh Spice in the lurex and leather.

A child-sized Mickey Mouse varsity jacket. I will ask my grand-nieces are interested. If not I will endeavour to invent some sort of shrinking potion so I can wear it.

A rhinestone barrette.

Okay, not from the sidewalk but they were handing these out gratis at the Value Village.
A brief disclaimer: While I maintain that money isn’t real, it’s equally true that nothing is truly free. I find things because I spend a lot of time looking. Most people don’t have the luxury of living in a city where people leave the things they don’t need on the sidewalk. Nor do they have two hours each day to walk around. But if you find yourself rambling, you might as well look around for your own treasure!
Also, don’t be greedy!
