Power Duos

We have reached the end of my recent Facebook Marketplace celebrity doll frenzy. A few notes: I’m trying very hard to support local and boycott US-based businesses. Not because I hate Americans but the current political situation is so shaky that it’s best that we build up Canadian enterprises so we need not be reliant on an unstable trading partner. It would be nice if the larger “Buy Canadian” initiatives would help wake our American cousins up to their slide into totalitarianism. But for me, self-preservation is a huge incentive to avoiding places like the Value Village, formerly my number one source of gently used Celebrity dolls.

I have increasingly turned to Facebook Marketplace for second hand celebs (although Facebook is an evil empire on its own). Where there are plenty of flakes on the app, I have met some interesting people doing FB business. For example, I purchased Ariana Grande about a year ago from a 16-year-old online entrepreneur. Cynthia Eviro is an August acquisition. She still sealed in a box but I set her free and even made her a new dress.

I am hesitant to change Billie Eilish’s ensemble though. And to be honest, I already have a J-Hope but this version was part of the big lot and I was mostly just wanting him for his runners (because BTS dolls got big feet and Ken dolls shoes won’t fit.
