Souvenirs: The Niagara Falls Collection
I’m obsessed with Niagara Falls. I love the thunderous awesomeness of this natural wonder. I love the fact that man has harnessed its power to create electricity. And what can I say, I loves the kitsch. The jewels pictured above could date from the 50s or the 70s. It doesn’t make a difference because in the Niagara Falls of my youth time stood as still as a dusty mannequin in one of the city’s many creepy wax museums.
The object pictured below is a Stanhope — a microscopic photo viewed through a tiny magnifier. Each lens shows different views of turn-of-the-century Niagara Falls.
