Midweek Modness: Pentti Sarpaneva Pendant
Going back into the vaults for this image — It’s a Pentti Sarpaneva pendant which I sold a couple of years ago.
Sarpaneva started out as a graphic designer in his native Finland, but his jewellery was probably more influenced by his childhood in the countryside and his blacksmith father. The countryside inspired the organic look of his jewels, the process of metalurgy influenced his decision to use casting as well as hammered finishes.
I found this necklace at the Christie Antiques Show, which is on this weekend. Maybe I’ll get lucky again.

Oh, so beautiful – was it hard to let it go?
A couple days ago posted an AE From pendant I thrifted for the insane price of 99-cents. May be too simple for your liking but thought you’d appreciate it nevertheless, one bling lover to another!
It was hard to let go, but I never wore it and I try not to get too collector-y. One a year, I try and purge so tat the jewels can find a home where they are appreciated.
i love n.E. From. And 99 cents is insane.
Hi. I am hoping you can help me. I have a pentti sarpaneva necklace very similar to the one above made in bronze with a white stone. However, I am unable to find out any information about it as the only necklace like it on the web appears to be yours. I am hoping to sell mine on but have limited knowledge on what price to advertise it for. I would be grateful for any help you could give. Many thanks Angie
Because the stones are natural, there are many variations on this necklace. I can;t offer you a valuation, but if you check completed listings on Ebay, you can get a better idea of what these pieces generally go for. Good luck.
