Art Deco Week: Rhinestone Bracelets
Two costume Art Deco bracelets, one from the Value Village, the other just arrived from eBay. I believe them both to be Rhodium plated. Rhodium is a member of the platinum metals group (which also includes platinum, palladium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium). It was admired in the Deco era for it’s super shiny, chrome-like finish.
I reckon these pieces to be later examples of deco, partially because the rhodium-plated pieces tend to date in the 1930s.
