About A Schmooze: GC Watches
Last Wednesday I went to a party at Malaparte, the event space in the TIFF Bell Lightbox, to celebrate the Gc Watches. Gc stands for Guess Collection and it the brainchild of Guess co-founder Paul Marciano. The watches are nice enough — I liked the ceramic collection — and reasonably priced. It was hard to get a sense of what the watches were about really because the event itself was frustratingly boring. It was sort of like when you’re in a plane, standing on the runway for two hours and nobody really tells you why you are waiting or when your are going to take off. Sure they had distractions, like a thing where you could get your picture taken wearing a watch in front of a backdrop of the CN Tower although you could see the real CN Tower from of the window that the backdrop was placed in front of.
Then I went outside to get some air where I was treated to an actual breathtaking moment — the view from the patio of Malaparte (see below). And then I left.
