Kate Young for Target

Target has started opening its Canadian locations. Most importantly, a location on the subway line opened up a couple of weeks ago. While I haven’t been yet, I’m planning a visit today because I’m going to be in the neighbourhood and I want to experience that new Tar-Jay smell.

I also want to check out the first designer collaboration to debut since Target debuted in the Great White North — a capsule collection by stylist Kate Young. Technically, Young is not a designer — she’s most famous for dressing celebs like Michelle Williams and Maggie Gyllenhaal for the red carpet. But with formal season just around the corner and Young’s eye for glamour this collaboration perfect for affordable prom fashions. The collection, which retails from about $12 to $90, hit stores yesterday, even launched with a prom-themed party.

It’s been about a billion years since I went to the formal, but I do have my eye on the arrow-shaped necklace and the Verdura-inspired enamel cuff bracelet pictured below.
