Midweek Modness: Copper

Copper Vendome Necklace and Renoir Brooch

Once again I find my collection of copper jewellery growing. Here are two recent designer finds from the 1950s and ’60s: A Vendôme graduated ball choker and a Matisse enamelled tulip brooch. I picked up both for $2 each, so I feel like I have to brag about that a little.

Matisse, as you probably know, was the division of Jerry Fels’ Renoir company that used enamel. While the brooch is unsigned, this motif is very common in the Renoir/Matisse oeuvre. And Vendôme was the high end division of Coro.
