Midweek Modness: Joe Columbo Boby Trolley
At the Junction Flea at the Brick Works last Sunday, this classic red Boby Trolley Cart, designed by Italian industrial designer Joe Columbo (1930 to 1971), sat across the aisle from us all day. Alas, we were there to downsize, not to accumulate. Plus we didnt;t make close to enough money to meet the $300 sticker price.
This iconic organizer was designed by designed for Bieffe in 1969 to meet the needs of artists and designers (which is why it has so many pens and pencil and pads of paper-sized cubbies). It is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Triennale in Milan.
