The Relapse

I had a pretty good run of not buying clothes for a couple of weeks there. Isolating after testing positive for COVID certainly helped. So did being too busy catching up with assignments and appointments to shop. But after finishing my work on Monday I needed to go on an amble and found myself in the thrift district (Bloor and Lansdowne).

I visited four different shops and was able to restrain myself from buying anything new until I hit the Value Village. There I got a smocked blouse (labels had been cut out but it looks relatively recent) and a vintage ’80s skirt ( the floral print sort of reminded me of Liberty of London).

To complete the ensemble, I found this plastic, high relief cameo keychain, which I turned into a necklace when I got home. And I brought it all back in this lilac Le Coq Sportif bag. It’s probably fake because 99 percent of designer bags at the VV are knockoffs. But it was only $1.99 and I needed something to carry things home in.
