All New Review: Dry Idea

Batiste Dry Shampoo

If you want to stretch out a blowout or make your hair colour last a little longer, consider alternating your daily lather, rinse and repeat with a dry shampoo.

Dry shampoo works by absorbing oil. Most are powders that you sprinkle on your noggin, but we tried the spray-on Batiste Dry Shampoo (available at select Shoppers Drugmart stores).

The advantage of the aerosol is that it’s less messy than powdery shampoos. It doesn’t end up on your clothes and you can touch up the back of you head more easily. No dry shampoo cleans your hair as well as a liquid, but Batiste does provide a feeling of bonus volume and texture. If you don’t brush well after application, it may leave your hair looking a little chalky.

To sum up: The advantage of dry shampoo over shampoo regular shampoo is that if you straighten your hair, it spares it from heat and if you colour your cheveaux, it will help preserve your tint. The advantage of Batiste over other dry shampoos is better accuracy and less mess. If you want to refresh your hair and get thick, tousled surfer girl locks, I’d recommend Bumble + Bumble Hair Powder.
