1949 Elgin De Luxe Pocket Watch

Here’s an Elgin De Luxe pocket watch I got in an eBay lot a month ago. The Elgin Watch Company story is very interesting and I was planning on doing a nice big post about this watch, but time just kept slipping away.

I think if you were a young hipster, and you want to take up an affectation, carrying a pocket watch would be a good one.

The serial numbers (H665683) on the movement indicate the date of manufacture was 1949.
