There Are Llamas
When my dad was a young lad, he had some brothers who sailed around the world and brought back treasures from their travels. One of the souvenirs that my dad got was a tiny silver llama mounted on a Peruvian coin. My dad gave it to me when they moved last year.
I’ve come across a few more Peru- and llama-related finds in my own, more local travels, including the bracelet pictured above. Can you spot the tiny, cut out camelids?
And I got this woven wall hanging at Latre — a cool shop in the Junction. I’m currently test driving it above the headboard of our bed. It is competing with another Peruvian tapestry — but more about that one later.
