Last of the Summer Sales
My friend Katya sent me a message on Monday advising that Nordstrom Rack was having a crazy clearance sale. She sent pictures of things like Helmut Lang and Marlene Birger all priced under $20. It’s long been my philosophy that the savviest shopping strategy is to stock up on markdowns at the end of the season for next year (and to get a deal on transitional pieces to wear now).
And while I could not get there until Wednesday, I still found a few treasures. Continuing on my PoMo streak, I picked up this Nathalie du Pasquier notebook.
Then I picked up this Ulla Johnson peasant blouse. I have longed for an Ulla Johnson for ages. This top was $34, marked down from approximately $340.
And these Fenty by Rihanna for Puma eyelet basketball shorts were $15 (originally around $180). Admittedly these fall more on the summery scale, but I think I can wear them until at least October.
Not designer, but finding a pair of camo joggers was the last thing on my “to buy” list for fall winter (that and a pair of black running shoes). On sale, but not $15 cheap either.
And these two goodies I got a while back. The pinstriped pants I picked in the sale section of the Gap at the beginning of the summer sell off in late July. The black, ruffle sleeve sweater is for Joe Fresh and I bought it about two weeks ago. Both of these pieces should transition nicely into fall style.
Basically, there are amazing deals out there, one just has too check in at the Nordstrom Rack every day and be very nosy.
