Thrifty Finds

I was meeting my friend Dali for lunch on the Danforth of Friday. I was a little bit early so I popped into the Value Village for a quick poke about. I left with two treasures: a fun, baroque floral jacket (above) and a very cool Victorian silver book chain necklace (below).

Originally this neckpiece would have suspended a locket or a heavy pendant. Now I will have to be on the lookout for one of those. I tried it out with a gold-filled Edwardian locket but the finish and proportion just didn’t seem right.
