My First Moonphase
This morning I went to the One Of A Kind show. It’s the first sale since the COVID and while protocols limited the number of vendors (and in the food category, the free samples), it was good to see so many familiar faces and meet new makers.
I was especially pleased to visit the Wilk Watch booth. I had given myself a modest budget and I blew it all on a new moonphase watch. I’ve been wanting an example of this complication for, well, forever. Here’s why I bought this one.
- I like to support local.
- It’s got a quartz movement. A mechanical moonphase is a high maintenance timepiece and sometimes I can’t even get it together to change the date on my watches.
- It’s got a quartz movement so it’s affordable.
- That turquoise dial!
