Wrist Check

You know I like bracelets and watches so here are some snaps of recent wrist candy acquisitions. For starters, here is a wrist shot of a Flik Flak and a malachite and resin bangle that I found at the Value Village in January. I’ve stacked it with a malachite bangle that I’ve had for eons and a stunning dyed onyx Taxco silver panel bracelet that I thrifted back in December. This bracelet deserved its own post and was probably the best thing I found in all of 2025.
Two notes: The watch was working when I bought it. And the backdrop of the photo is a lovely Peruvian stem stitched backpack.

And here’s another working Flik Flak that I bought at the Value Village back in December. I never had a Flik Flak (a Swatch sub brand for kids) before in my life but had just written a story about them and when I saw it, I felt like it was fate (and only five dollars).
Nore: I also bought these red leather gloves in the same shopping safari. I was going to do a post about my mitts and gloves and how essential they’ve been during this particularly harsh winter but, again, I haven’t got around to it.

my Flik Flak fixation does’t end there. In between my thrift finds, Flik Flak sent me a brand new watch with my name embroidered on the strap! I guess I’m a collector now!
I will say that colourful, affordable kids watches have brought me a lot of joy. Especially during a particularly rough couple of months. I leant my mother the dinosaur one while I take her Swatch in for new batteries (consider this your yearly reminder that both Swatch and Flik Flak will replace batteries for free at a Swatch boutique).
