I Love Dusty Old Shops

There are a few shops that I have been patronizing since I moved to Toronto: Stanley’s Convenience on Bathurst north of Bloor, Soo Ling Beads on Dundas and Ossington, and B&J Trading on Spadina north of Dundas. I think they will be there forever but I also realize that at some point the proprietors will want to retire. So I’ve made it a mission to visit them this summer. I bought the big glass beads from Soo Ling. The faux Roman Coins were from a long ago trip to Stanley’s but I can assure you that there are more. I also bought the little glass beads from necklace there. I enjoyed adding more coins to beaded necklaces until I can source no more.

And I got a conical nón lá hat and these cotton bandanas at B&J.
