Vintage Jewellery Ads From 1985
I bought a Victoria & Albert Album from 1985 to help me research antique and retro clothing and jewellery. Since the book is 25 years old itself, I realized that the fashions and baubles in the advertisements were now vintage themselves.
To amuse you, I took some photos of bijoux ads from the album. Please forgive the wonkiness of the pix.
Apparently, pearls were big in the 1980s — as seen in the above Cartier and below Kenneth Jay Lane and Monet ads.
Big was also big in the 1980s — check out that Dior Bijoux necklace at the top of the post and the chunky Napier collar pictured below.
