The Brass and Horn Section
Part of my vintage accrual system involves buying lots of jewellery. When people sell things in lots, it’s usually because they don’t have the time or expertise to go through pieces individually. Which means treasures are often hidden amongst the junk. Case in point: The Art Deco era Amethyst glass collet necklace that I wrote about on Monday. I immediately spotted it in a photo of a pile of stuff listed on eBay.
Sometimes when that pile of stuff arrives, I discover other hidden gems. In this case, the lot also included a gold, seed pearl and diamond brooch (more on that later) and this wonderful brass and horn bangle. Granted, I’m a sucker for horn bracelets, but I love this bangle. I also how it looks stacked with antique and contemporary bracelets. Mixing old and new is the new future.
