Do Over: Velvety Vendôme Watch
Going through all kinds of watch bits and I came across one of my earliest do-overs: Years ago, I got an 1970s-era Vendôme watch. The watch worked fine, but the bracelet part was busted. Because of the way the watch was designed, you couldn’t just put a new band on it. So I sewed it onto a velvet ribbon.
I wore it for a while. I probably need to do more work on the clasp part of the bracelet to make the watch sit more comfortably. And attaching it with red thread maybe isn’t the most elegant look, but I kinda like the roughness. Who knows, maybe you’ll see this watch again in another configuration.
