Last week we were talking about jewellery designed to hold or sell perfume. This week, we take a look at the makeup side of things. Charles Revson, the founder of Revlon, launched an department store range of skincare and makeup products called Ultima II in 1973. To help sell to an upscale clientle, they also sold costume jewellery under the Ultima II name. But it wasn’t just any old costume jewellery — the made gold plated versions of Aldo Cipullo‘s iconic Love and Friendship bracelets as well as a chunky brass ring of Robert Indiana‘s Love image.
