Midweek Modness: De La Parro Key Ring
Here’s a 1950s silver and (I think) chrysocolla key ring signed by Horacio de la Parra, a Mexican silversmith who worked for and co-founded Conquistador S.A., According to the Little Book of Mexican silver, the marks on this piece (eagle 24) date the key ring to about 1948 to 1955. I won it in an eBay auction. It came in a lot of old jewellery, but I bought it for this piece because I thought it was a finger ring. Once Austerity April is over, I hope I can find a jeweller who can turn it into a ring. I don;t feel bad about altering it because it is missing the screw-on ball closer part that would make it an operational key ring.
