Toronto Comic Arts Festival

TCAF books

Excuse the extended digression from jewel talk. It’s just that I find inspiration in other forms of creative expression as well. For example, last Saturday, Mr. Andrew and myself went to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival to meet and mingle with some of the best illustrators, comic book artists and graphic novelists on the scene today. I f I had money, I would have spent it all — most artists were selling prints and other artworks as well as books.

I got to meet my art school crush Mimi Pond in person, where I got a copy of her latest book Over Easy (which I immediately went home and read in its entirety in one sitting).

Brian McLachlan $2 Caricature

Mr. Andrew and I also added to our collection of artist portraits with this $2 caricature by artist Brian McLachlan. I wish I had $30 more bucks and I would have picked up the book Memory Palaces by Edie Fake and a little Sasquatch print by Corinne Mucha.
