A Bunch of Bags
So far, this month’s thrift find of the month is this DSquared Bandolier Bag I found at the Value Village last Monday. It’s the perfect-sized pouch for an iPad.
Due to the one-in, two rule of accquisition, this new bag must either be sold or two other purses have to go. Whilst trying to decide which two purses will go, I decided that I would be even more ruthless. Below are the bags that escaped the cull.
This Dooney & Bourke cross body bag is one of the best things I ever found on the sidewalk. First of all it was discovered in a box of free stuff in New York City and it had a good chunk of change stuck in a seam at the bottom of the bag. This purse is so well made that it is still my go-to bag a year and a half later.
This Trussardi bucket bag is a VV find. It’s a little worse for wear (it was a little dried out when I got it and the stitching unravelled a littlebut it’s still holding up). I bought it for biking but the straps aren’t quite long enough to sling across my back. But it is great for when you have to go some place posh, but have to carry a lot of stuff. It also looks good with the Dooney & Bourke.
And finally I fixed up the big briefcase I found as a post-yard sale freebie by adding a shoulderstrap and replacing the brittle pot metal d-rings with good ol’ brass. The shoulder strap makes it good for cycling and it’s size makes it nice for when I have out-of-town business (looks more professional than showing up at meetings with a weekender).
