Midweek Modness: 1974 Casabella Magazine

I found a stack of old architecture magazines on the sidewalk last week. The most interesting were a collection of Casabella mags from the early ’70s. At the time, the Italian journal was under the direction of Alessandro Mendini — the architect and one of the leaders of the Radical design and Post Modernist movement. They are exciting and weird with an energy that still feels fresh today. I wish I could read Italian because I bet the ideas are as compelling as the design. I have given them to our architect friend Martin who can hopefully provide more insight into the craziness.
