Midweek Modness: Ibero Finland Brooch

I picked up this pretty emerald-green wooden pin at the St. Lawrence Market last Sunday. At first glance I thought (hoped) it was an Aarikka brooch, but a quick glance at the hardware proved that it wasn’t, although that didn’t stop me from spending an hour on the internet trying to see if Aarikka’s beading ever used capped pins. But the research paid off a bit in that even though the piece is unmarked, I was able to find similar brooches made by another Finnish company, Ibero in the 1970s.
