In The Bag

YSL attache case

Fall may not have arrived officially, but I’ve already been working out my autumn looks. You’ve already seen my new shoes, now I’m updating my bags. For my professional look, I found this vintage canvas and leather Yves Saint Laurent attaché case at the Value Village. I’ve recently come to the conclusion that I’m too busty for cross body bags (the straps cause an unflattering boob separation), and my shoulders are too narrow for shoulder bags (they just slide off). So I’m all about the hand bag now. And attaché cases are good for carrying notebooks and keeping pens organized and aren’t quite as heavy as a briefcase.

Plus, it’s Yves Saint Laurent. I’m not immune to branding.

DIllards tote

I’d also been pining for a simple tote. Originally I really wanted a big leather one, but then I found this vintage vegan bag with lucite handles and I couldn’t resist. It’s been my everyday bag for the last week. It holds a surprising amount of things. And I’ve gotten many compliments on it. I’m not immune to flattery.

ecuador weekender

And finally, for travelling back and forth to visit my family, I got a new (old) weekender bag. It’s woven wool from Ecuador and has a nice, slouchy Boho vibe that works with my planned autumn and winter looks. My Hudson’s Bay bag has served me well for three years, but I’m not sure about canvas after Labour Day, though.
