Just wanted to share my small collection of vintage appliqué bags and samplers. Mostly because I’ve made some cool new additions. Most recently, I picked up this amazing black felt pouch last week. The little deer are made of leather. On the other side its flowers.
Below is my first felty find. Back in the day (the 1940s and ’50s I’d say) you would send away for the patterns for these purses and then stitch them up yourself. So no two are ever exactly the same.
Here are some other examples of appliqué that I picked up at various yard sales over the summer. They give me a hankering to do some appliqué myself (once I finish all of my 100 other crafty projects).
