Drawing Light

On Sunday, anticipating Monday’s big snowfall, Mr. Andrew and I went to the supermarket to stock up on groceries and to get some exercise in. Along the way, we found this adorable table lamp on the sidewalk.

It’s made up of three wooden pencil crayons held together by wood pegs. It came with a lampshade that doesn’t feel original. I did an image search for ”pencil crayon table lamp” and quite a few identical numbers came up, all shadeless.

There’s a sticker on the bottom of this one that says “made in Taiwan” but that the onky info I have. Based on the brown socket and white cord, I would say it dates from the mid-to-late 1980s to the mid ’90s.

The next question is what do I do with it? I have table lamps galore yet very few surface areas to display them. But I love oversized novelty furniture sooooooo much. I wish i had another apartment that I could decorate with chairs shaped like hands, Swatch Watch wall clocks, and a swag lamp that looks like a super-sized light bulb.

I will figure something out.
