Do Over: Mexican Mask Keychain and Glam Amethyst Rhinestone Repair

Because I like to make broken jewelry whole again, I have little plastic trays full of bits and pieces of findings to make repairs with. In one container, I had a Made in Mexico alpaca silver and carved Aztec mask key chain that was missing the piece that screws on and keeps your keys from falling off the holder. In another container, I had a gold toned, rhinestone topped screw on cap. Last night, whilst searching for a replacement stone for an Indian bib necklace, I came across both pieces and thought, “I wonder…”

The cap threaded onto the keychain as if they were made for each other. It might not be the most perfect fit looks-wise, but practically, it works for me.
