Year View Mirror: My Best Accessories of 2012
I’m kinda really happy with most of my accessory finds this year. First of all, I didn’t buy a lot of duds, which made winnowing this list down to just five things really hard. Ask me tomorrow and this list would probably look very different. I’m also surprised by the palette. In the summer I was thinking I was a blue girl, but this clearly shows so much red and yellow.
Here’s my picks and rationalizations for them:
1. Hibou Satchel. It was the best deal ever (free) and it perfectly fits my iPad.
2. Fly London Flatforms. I bought them to wear to Italy but didn’t. They did become my go-to shoe between July and October.
3. Céline Silk Scarf. I found two great Céline pieces at the Value Village this year — a wool blazer (too small) and this bike-themed scarf, which was my most worn foulard this year.
4. Hudson’s Bay Striped Tote. This tough and sturdy canvas weekender was just $25 when I bought it this summer. And, as you know, I’m hysterical for HBC stuff.
5.Jones New York Cardigan. You may also have noticed that I’m crazy for cardigans. Even after finally finding a suitable yellow cardigan after a two-year search, this Winners find has won my heart.
