Midweek Modness: Crazy Tray
I wonder how trays were used back in the 1960s and ’70s. In my head, I picture ladies with cotton candy hair using them to transport glasses of lemonade to thirsty children. But I have no recollection of any drinks being served up on trays (not counting my waitron days when I could hoist a platter with three pitchers of beer over my head and carry it through a crowd of drunken University students).
I suspect this tray was intended to be a decorative item and on that level it succeeds in spades! I put it up on my Instagram when I found it in a thrift shop in Kitchener a couple of weeks ago. It was one of my most popular posts ever. It is made of metal and marked Elite Trays Made In England The Metal Tray Manufacturing Company on the bottom.
