2015: Unexpected Pleasures

I am still a sucker for buying bags of broken jewellery at thrift shops and flea markets. I like to sort through them like an old timey prospector panning for gold (and yes, sometimes I do come across  precious metals).

And even though these grab bags are full of busted bijoux, not every piece is broken. This clay fringed necklace is one such piece. If it had been set out on a velvet cushion in a display case, I still would have passed have given it a second glance, but there it was in a pile of jewellery that I was happily sorting through. For some reason I put it on and realized that it worked with what I was wearing. In fact it works with so many things that its become an unexpected keeper!
