When I was in high school, earrings were my main thing, man. I had multiple piercings (my mother was always telling me that I was going to get one of my shoulder dusters caught in something and tear my earlobe off along the dotted lines). These articulated human earrings that I found at the Value Village earlier this week would have fit in perfectly with my 1980s vibe.
Eventually I stopped sporting so many earrings. By the 1990s, the ones I did wear became much more sedate. The silver faux peridot earrings pictured above would have fit in nicely during the slacker days. The sterling and tiger’s eye hooks have that fresh and now feeling. And then, when the fashion pendulum swings back to “Young Madonna” I’ll be prepared with those crazy, mixed earrings!
