Arm Party
Some recent thrift shop finds. I found a very Alexis Bittar-style bangle (above, second from the right) at the Victoria Park and Eglinton Value Village. In general, the prices at most thrift shops seem like they have doubled in the last year, so I was happy that it was only priced at $3. I put many things back on the shelf. I should maybe start a tumbler or Instagram account for just the things I don’t buy.
I also picked up a few rings on my recent trip to revisit the new VV location on Islington. Slim pickings, save these rings (above). The snakey snake is signed 800 and I think a Polish hallmark. The carved obsidian skull is signed Charles Albert, and the Chalcedony ring is simply marked 925. I can not resist skulls or serpents. Or a bargain: the blue stone was only priced at $3.
Finally I bought this early 50s cushion shaped timepiece for maybe $14 bucks. I am a sucker for square and squarish watches.
