Plastic Menagerie

Amongst the many things I can’t resist buying is figural jewellery. You know, baubles that look like actual things like animals. Here are few examples that I found on a quick thrift break on Monday.

Above is a Lea Stein style snake bypass bracelet. These Deco designs were super popular in the 1970s. The 1974 movie version of the Great Gatsby starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow spurred a whole roaring ’20s revival.

I also found another Buch + Deichmann gull brooch.

And a big brassy tiger pinback.
