Fabrications
I’ve been on a bit of a textile tear lately. First off, is the rest of my Haul from the $5 treasure trunk at Mama Loves You. Not only did I find the Inuit tapestry I wrote about last week, I also got to this embroidered black velvet pillow case…
… and this embroidered panel (the left is the back and the right is the faded front)…
… and this WWII Escape and Evasion map scarf (such a fascinating story behind this that it deserves its own post)…
Outside of my Mama Loves You finds, I also rediscovered this old hooked rug that my younger sister gave me. It needs some TLC which I can’t seem to find the time to give it. I think I will put in my Earnestine Art Etsy shop so I can find a good home for it.
Finally, I bought two blankets at the Value Village last night. The cat is destroying our new couch with his claws. I covered it as best I could with a couple of Baja blankets that I already had, but there was not enough fabric to protect the whole seating area. The one on the left is for sure from Mexico and has bright colours and a happy sun face. The throw on the right, well, I don’t know it’s origins. I will have some fun trying to figure it out though!
