The Wish
I have two Pinterest boards — “Putting It Together” and “Wants” — which serve as a kind of online wish list. The first one is to help me visualize how to wear clothes I already have and the second is repository of clothes I feel would fill my wardrobe holes.
As I wrote last week, sometimes I feel like I can magically summon the things I want into existence, for example, just when I regretted the backpack I brought to Basel, I found a decent black cross body bag abandon on the train platform. And then later was given a nice leather carry all.
Update: after a week of valiant service, I left the found bag behind. Poor purse, abandoned twice. But I just didn’t have room in my luggage to bring it back. The leather tote, however, is a keeper.
I’ve also been on the hunt for a low slung, fringed purse. My wardrobe has become much more minimalist and I’ve become convinced that a such a bag would add a little extra edge to my look. I had this bag on my “Wants” board for a while. And today I found this one at the Value Village. It needs a few repairs (the chain is broken and some of the fringe needed to be stitched back on).
And I have been also searching for a pair of black and white harem pants to go with my tu peplum top ever since I saw this picture from Rachel Comey’s Spring 20-9 collection. These thrifted Forever 22 trousers will do nicely (once I take them up a little).
