A New Leaf
When I was a kid I wanted to be an ideas person. You know, someone that comes up with cool concepts and gets other people to execute them. I now realize that that’s not a real job, but that doesn’t stop me from envisioning things and then not making them. I just don’t get paid for it.
One of my goals this summer is to see some of these concepts to fruition. I did succeed in turning some sweats into thunder pants. And on Wednesday, I made this leafy necklace.
I’ve been saving up gold-dipped leaf pendants for a couple of years now with the aim to make a fringe necklace out of foliage. To be honest, I did a similar necklace about five to seven years ago (I can no longer keep track of time), which I sold at the late, great Junction Flea. I’ve been biding my time waiting for the right neckpiece to add the leaves to. But perfect is the enemy of good (and finished) so I improvised by upcycling this beaded beauty.
