Bag Week: Snakeskin Disco Purse
We called this kind of hardshell evening bag a disco purse when we were young because it had a long strap so that you could wear it almost like a necklace when you got up to dance. You see, we were afraid of leaving our purse at a table while we danced lest someone steal our money (we were little punks and freaks, we were not going to discos). We were equally self conscious of what we called the “rec chick dance” which involved putting your purses on the dance floor and then circling around them while you gyrated.
Big enough to hold your keys and lipstick — that’s all you need.
