Van City Thrifting

img_7159I am in Vancouver on watch-related business, but of course I had to try and hit up a few thrift shops. Unfortunately, the city has been slammed by a snow storm, so I was unable to range as much as I would have liked.

img_7125My first stop was the Wildlife Thrift Store. I was hoping to find some geographically relevant scores — like a Cowichan sweater or some old Expo memoribilia. No dice. I did pick up a hammered bronze pendant, an Iron Maiden Canadian Tour t-shirt and a Uniqlo Cardigan (because I forgot to pack shirts).

img_7135I also visited House of Vintage on Granville Street. It reminded me of places I would go in Kensington Market or Queen Street West back when I was in high school — a mix of new old stock, vintage jeans, silk screened t-shirts etc.

img_7129Didn’t buy anything. But it was fun. And, as a bonus, it also had the old school vintage shop smell of freshly laundered clothes and clothing steamer.
