Half Knits
I found some nice chunky variegated wool and thought I should knit myself something. Cooler weather is coming and the experts are advising that we should still do as much as we can outside or, if indoors, in a well-ventilated place. Which means keeping the windows open as long as we can hold out.
So I had the idea to knit a bed jacket, a coverup that was popular in the first half of the 20th Century. Something you could pop over your shoulders if you felt a chill but that was so loose and flowery like a long robe or shawl that you could get tangled up in.
This is also the first thing I’ve knit with a pattern of my own devising. I think it turned out okay (I still haven’t blocked it) but since it’s for indoor use only, I’m not too worried about it being perfect.
