Last July, I found this cool brass and quartz crystal on a curb around the corner from my house. Not only was I unable to locate its owner, I was also unable to figure out who made it. I mean, look at it — it’s clearly not a mass-manufactured piece.
Yesterday while scrolling through barter sites on Facebook, I saw a posting for a very similar ring. The description said it was from jewellery designer Lissa Bowie, a Canadian who works out of Mexico. An artist that I actually wrote about for Femke magazine. While I feel like a goof for not recognizing her work at first sight, I am glad that this is one solved mystery!
PS. If you’re in Toronto, you can buy Lissa Bowie’s jewels at my friend Regina’s shop Labour Of Love in Cabbagetown. She always has the most wonderful accessories.
