Happy New Year

I think its a tradition to spend New Year’s Eve cleaning so that you sweep the bad luck of the old year out. Yesterday was cleaning day but I also focussed on organizing my collections. I dusted my rocks and put the smaller specimens in a shadow box that I found on the sidewalk.

I stopped by the Salvation Army thrift shop whilst waiting to pick up our NYE dinner and picked up these egg cups. They make good bases for egg- and globe-shaped rocks and other objects. The milk glass cup was esp Irresistible because it has “Good Morning, Deiter” printed on it.

At the Sally Ann I also picked up this Grimwades flower frog. I could use it as a pencil holder or a vase for dried flowers but it also just an attract object on its own.
