Runway Review: London Ready to Wear Spring Summer 2012

Despite the Brits producing top design talent. London Fashion Week doesn’t have the same cachet as New York, Milan and Paris. The most noteworthy collection from of Merry Old England was Burberry Prorsum. Creative director Christopher Bailey mixed African-inspired prints and accessories with 1930s and ’40s draped dresses. There were lots of hand-crafted touches such as embroidery and appliqué. The strangest thing, howevery, was how un-summery the collection looked. Still, if you left out the parkas and pom-ponned hats, there were many desirable pieces.
