Green Day
I didn’t have much chance to hit the thrift shops last week, but I still managed to acquire enough stuff that a theme emerged. It started with this green leather Passille-Sylvestre belt that I found in the $5 box at a vintage shop on Queen called Mama Loves You.
I was also in New York last week to view the watches Roger Dubuis showed at SIHH. They were all grand but one from the Velvet collection was particularly pretty. The bezel is made of pressed (as opposed to woven) carbon and set with gorgeous green Pariaba Tourmalines. I’ve dreamt about this watch every night since I first saw it.
I was using my New York trip to practice packing for Baselworld later this week. I have to hit the ground running and therefore want to put together a week’s wardrobe and accessories into a carry all and a carry on. In New York, I used a little leather wristlet as a wallet/travel documents organizer that I could fit into a larger bag to use as a smaller purse in Switzerland. It worked but the wristlet I used had zippers that gave me hang nails. I later found this vintage, snap-based mini portfolio that works way better.
And finally, I’ve been on the look out for a bucket bag for a while. I found this one on the same VV trip as the wristlet. And it was green. And I had a 30 percent discount coupon to use up, so I bought it (though it’s not coming to Switzerland with me).
And finally, I bought a floppy hat at Old Navy because it was on sale for like $5 and it fit my oversized noggin.
