Middle Aged Mermaid

Growing up is all about transformation. People should always be evolving. For this reason I’m attracted to mythical creatures that have been transformed. Like vampires, werewolves and  the Inuit sea goddess Sedna, who is often depicted as half woman/half seal. And now that I’m going through my own physical, middle age transformation, I’ve found myself identifying more with mermaids because they are something in-between.

TL;DR I found this handcarved mermaid at a thrift shop. I love it so much that I’m going to marry it.
